UltrasoundThese 32-hour courses are designed to meet the intent of SNT-TC-1A and are in accordance with ISO 18436-8 and are available in Category I & II level qualifications.  Students successfully completing this course are familiar with the scope and limitations of Airborne/Structure Borne Ultrasonic Inspection, are able to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications, and organise and report inspection results.  Course content consists of advanced theory, inspection logistics, data collection, data and sound analysis, writing procedures, and generating reports. A General, Specific, and Practical test is given at the end of the course.

What Will I learn:

Students will learn the theory of ultrasound, applications (leak detection, steam trap inspections, valve integrity testing, mechanical inclusive of bearings, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems & electrical inspections) inspections techniques, equipment functionality/use, data trending, reporting and analysis using software.

  • ISO Cat I Certification in Airborne & Structure Borne Ultrasound
  • ISO Cat II Certification in Airborne & Structure Borne Ultrasound

Prerequisites: Have to achieve Level I certification in order to register for Level II certification.

What is the duration of this training?

32 hours of classroom training and practical hands-on run over 4 days with a written exam on the 5th day.
