Welcome to the April 2025 edition of the Industry Partners Australia newsletter.

As leaders it is easy for us to get caught up in delivering the day to day business requirements, in fact at times it can feel good, as driving a project or striving for greater output can deliver immediate or short term rewards. I was reminded of this myself in March when I attended our IPA Collective Showcase event in Brisbane, with the focus on improving operational capability, the room was full of continuous improvement and operations leaders, who took the time out from heavy schedules to be there.
 
These leaders recognised the value of the IPA network and learning opportunities, that the 5 presenters for the day brought to the table. Sometimes as leaders we forget that the majority of our roles should be on improving employee capability, which in turn drives the overall capability of the business. So remember, every time you take the time to develop yourself or one of your team there is more than just a short term reward, you are building the future.
