What is involved in hosting an IPA event?

Hosting events is an important part of the IPA community and is discussed throughout the membership and onboarding process.

It is also a great opportunity to welcome industry peers into your business, showcase your site, share innovations and good practices, and contribute to the conversations and knowledge-sharing that make the IPA network valuable.

What do we need from a host?

You don't need a large conference facility or elaborate setup. For most IPA events, the minimum requirements are:

  • A meeting room that can accommodate approximately 16 people. A tight fit is completely fine — if you can comfortably welcome a small group, talk to us.
  • A TV or screen with an HDMI connection for presentations.

What about catering?

Tea and coffee, morning tea and lunch are always appreciated. Morning tea can be as simple as something sweet and fruit, while sandwiches, wraps or subs are perfectly suitable for lunch.

However, catering should never be the reason you decide not to host. If catering is difficult for your site, let us know and the IPA team can arrange to bring it with us.

Do we need to provide a site tour?

Where possible, we love including a site tour as part of an event, but what you show and how long the tour runs is entirely up to you.

It doesn't need to be a full facility tour. A short walk through part of your operation, a visit to a particular work area or even showing the group your visual management or 'war room' can add real value to the day.

We'll work with you to shape the event around what is practical and appropriate for your site.
