2021 NSW Maintenance & Reliability Leadership Retreat Overview
Industry Partners Australia is a community of industry professionals who learn from each other and our expert partners. We believe that 'Solutions Begin with a Conversation', and our role is to facilitate those conversations.
On occasion, there is a need to step away from the day-to-day and connect with like-minded industry peers. When we do, it always reinvigorates those who attend, and the new connections made are invaluable.
This was the goal of our Leaders Retreat for the thirty-two Asset and Maintenance Leaders in the Hunter Valley last week.
The 2 x half-day event included several workshops focussing on key aspects of leading in a complex and uncertain environment.
Our Virtual Reality team problem-solving session highlighted the need for team attitude and skill to be fully effective. When diverse and unfamiliar groups come together, a 'luck' factor can separate the team outcomes. Where some teams struggled, others succeeded. This was a reflection of the mix of skills and attitudes in the randomised teams. However, in our operational lives, we get to select our teams based on these vital skills and mindsets and achieve greater outcomes.

Over dinner, we enjoyed a great discussion with AGL Head of Transformation, Vahid Pourghadiri and took a few of our guests aside to see how the day went. You can view these conversations in the video included.
