Change is inevitable. Change is happening faster than at any time in history.
Humans don’t particularly like change and do some pretty weird things when change comes their way. Enterprises are pathologically opposed to change and are organised to eliminate it. Change equals risk, and Boards don’t like risk very much.
The organisational structure of your enterprise was designed in 1776 by Adam Smith, who had never heard of a computer. The organisational structure has not evolved since then.
